Three weeks after arresting Ross Ulbricht, the FBI transferred 144,336 bitcoins from his encrypted wallet into a government-controlled address. The seizure was executed as 446 on-chain transactions — 445 of exactly 324 BTC each, a number chosen because 3-2-4 maps to F-B-I on a telephone keypad. The public nature of the blockchain made the largest law-enforcement Bitcoin seizure fully auditable.
